one sound
sculpts another
orthrus
The two-headed sampler. One sound sculpts another.
Load your own audio into two layers and let one shape the other. Orthrus is for sound designers who want a sampler that does something other samplers can't: one recording carving, gating or imprinting itself onto another, then played from your keyboard.

one layer acts on the other
Each layer keeps its own sounds, filter, envelope and effects. The filters and cross-modulation let layer B sculpt layer A (or the other way round), and one knob, Bite, sets how hard.
- Imprint Stamps one sound's tone onto the other, like a vocoder.
- Carve Turns the other sound down wherever this one is loud, frequency by frequency.
- Gate Lets through only the frequencies where this sound is loud.
- Press Turns the other sound down while this one is loud, like a sidechain compressor.
- Lift Lets the other sound through only while this one is loud.
- Cross-modulation Ring, AM and FM between the layers, in either direction.
